Monica M. Graham, author and illustrator of “Johny and the Extraordinary Caterpillar” and “A Mermaid Tear,” lived in Germany with her parents, her younger brother, and sister. When she was nine years old, they moved to America. Over the years Monica has painted many pictures, some she gave away, and many she entered in fairs where she won numerous first-place ribbons. She has published in Highlights for Children and Pack of Fun for craft ideas. She has also had a story published in Bread for Children. Monica took a correspondence course from the Institute of Children Literature. She was a teacher’s assistant for many years and is currently working at a daycare. Monica also teaches Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Monica and her husband have two grown sons. She now lives in Central Oregon with her husband.
Marjorie Meret-Carmen, M.Ed. is an educator, freelance writer and social and political activist.
Marjorie earned a Master’s degree in Education from Antioch University in 1979. Author of “Repairing the Benzo Blunder: A Mosaic of Recovery” Marjorie continues to write and inspire others to tell their tale.
Alice Elshoff is a retired teacher and author of “How Grace Got Her Name” a true story about how the recovery of an injured Swan, and her ability to woo a very grumpy, unhappy male swan, captivated an entire town.
In her second book “Tundra’s Gift” Elshoff mixes ancient myth with modern inspiration supplied by a very special owl. The story of “Tundra’s Gift” is inspired by the bravery of children she saw recovering while she volunteered at Doernbecher Children’s hospital in Portland, Oregon. Alice lives in Bend Oregon with a few chickens and a very opinionated cat.
Lenora Whiteman, author of “Snowbound Stagecoach,” is a fourth-generation Oregonian. Her interests include history, gardening, and geology. She has worked as a hardware store clerk, a surgical dental assistant, and a community college instructor. She has also worked in antique malls and a traditional English tearoom.
Whiteman is a past vice president of the Allphin-McClain Family Association and a life member of the Sons and Daughters of Oregon Pioneers.
Jocelyn Pedersen is a graduate of Brigham Young University. She grew up in Pueblo, Colorado and now lives with her husband and children in American Fork, Utah.
When she’s not busy managing her Benzo Brains YouTube channel or serving as an advisor to The Alliance for Benzodiazepine Best Practices and The Council for Sustainable Healing, you can find Jocelyn rocking out to big band music and forcing her kids to watch MGM musicals with her.
